Lip Reader Reveals Queen Elizabeth's Secret Message to Diana During Her Wedding Day

When a member of the royal family gets married, it is customary for the newlyweds to step out onto Buckingham Palace's balcony to mark their public debut as a couple. They share a kiss, wave to the crowd, and soak in the love. Princess Diana and Prince Charles were no exception to the cherished custom when they wed on July 29, 1981. As the Wales' appeared before the huge crowd that had gathered, Queen Elizabeth II whispered something to her daughter-in-law.

Years later, a lip reader revealed the Queen's wise words to Diana — to focus on the people who had been there "all day, waiting to see her." The expert also revealed that Charles complimented his bride. He allegedly said, "You look perfect," as they locked eyes during the ceremony. He then gently asked her to give him her hand before sharing a kiss, as reported by The Mirror.
As per reports, to calm her nerves, Charles also sent Diana a letter the night before their wedding. Royal author, Penny Junor, wrote in her book The Duchess: The Untold Story, "The night before the wedding, which Diana spent at Clarence House with her sister Jane, he sent her a note, along with a signet ring bearing the Prince of Wales feathers. He wrote, 'I'm so proud of you, and when you come up, I'll be there at the altar for you tomorrow. Just look 'em in the eye and knock 'em dead.'" However, as thoughtful as the note was, it contradicted an alleged confession Charles made to Diana.
According to Diana’s astrologer, Penny Thornton, Charles admitted the night before the wedding that he didn’t want to enter the marriage under pretenses. In the ITV documentary The Diana Interview: Revenge of a Princess, Thornton said, “One of the most shocking things that Diana told me was that the night before the wedding, Charles told her that he didn’t love her. I think Charles didn’t want to go to the wedding on a false premise. He wanted to square it with her, and it was devastating for Diana.” Charles instead was in love with Camilla Parker-Bowles, as reported by Marie Claire.
However, according to the late Queen's former press secretary, the royal couple appeared to be truly in love on their wedding day and were unable to keep their hands off each other. Royal biographer, Ingrid Seward, also claimed, “Diana told me very shortly before she died that she wished people could see the love letters that she had from Charles. She wanted people to know that she loved Charles and he loved her. There was a period of great love between them." Their divorce was confirmed in 1996, nearly a year before Diana tragically passed away in a car crash in Paris.
