An 'Incredibly Brave' Monarch! King Charles III Wins Praise for How He 'Refuses to Give in to Cancer Fatigue'
King Charles III is currently receiving treatments for his battle with cancer, which has won the monarch praise for his strength of character.
"The King is very positive, and he's always been very wary about illness, and he's not one of those people that dwells on illness," royal author Ingrid Seward said of the monarch.
"He just pushes it aside, and I think he's being incredibly brave, but also I think he's very buoyed up by the support and the messages that he's received from the general public," she added. "I think he's rather pleased that by actually telling us all what's going on, he's brought more awareness to this problem that so many people suffer from various forms of cancer."
The monarch was diagnosed with a mystery form of cancer recently, and the news went public on Monday, February 5. Prince Harry made a surprise visit to see his dad the following day, and the Duke was quickly criticized for only staying with his ailing father for one hour.
"[Prince] William would be upset that Harry yet again has chosen to make this visit to see his father a PR opportunity," Seward added when discussing the future king's anger at his brother. "As far as William is concerned, he has absolutely no interest in speaking to Harry until Harry behaves like a gentleman and apologizes for the years of rudeness and slurs he has aimed at William and the Princess of Wales."
The scribe further revealed how the heir to the throne "must be privately furious" at his younger brother for using their ill father as "an opportunity to announce his arrival and expect to see" the heir to the throne.
This "devastating" news comes only 17 months into the King's reign, which followed the equally troubling news of Kate, Princess of Wales' shock abdominal surgery on January 16. William took over two weeks off from royal duties to assist his recovering wife before having to "step up" and guide the Crown after its CEO fell seriously ill.
The Prince of Wales has also won rave reviews for filling in the gaps that come with a monarchy's director becoming partly incapacitated. Although Charles III remains committed to doing his daily state boxes and meeting officials, His Majesty has suspended all public engagements.
Although many have praised Prince Harry for visiting his sole surviving parent, his trip did not go down well with other senior members of the monarchy due to its brevity.
"Of course, but members of the royal family generally don’t behave like a teenager in a reality show expressing their personal impulses. It fuels speculation and panic," a palace insider revealed. "They keep calm and carry on."
