Prince Harry jetted all the way from California to St Paul's Cathedral for an Invictus Games celebration ceremony on Wednesday, May 8. However, His Majesty King Charles III "snubbed" the royal rebel during his whirlwind trip to his homeland, in a new effort to avoid the "Sussex circus."

"People think if Harry rolls into town, there's going to be some sort of reconciliation," royal reporter Robert Jobson told an outlet. "But you're going to realize there's been a lot of water under the bridge, a lot of portrayal of trust."

The Duke of Sussex and his father, King Charles III, only 'occasionally speak.'

"That takes time to rebuild, and I don't think we're anywhere near the stage of rebuilding trust," he added. "Harry effectively took it by himself to come to see his dad when he said that he had been diagnosed with cancer, which would be seen by as many as a good thing. But at the time, I think the King didn't want all the media circus that would accompany Harry's arrival."

The King met with his youngest son on February 6, which was one day after the monarch announced his cancer diagnosis to the world. However, there turned out to be some unclear issues that occurred during the meeting, since some claim that father and son spoke for an hour, whereas others state 12 minutes.

The scrapped second meeting, which one analyst said the palace knew about "for over a month," was also met with shock and surprise by many star royal scribes and experts.

Prince Harry first met with King Charles during a brief meeting on February 6, 2024.

"He's the father of Harry. It would look nice if they met," bestselling author Ingrid Seward stated. "He probably doesn't want it to be used as a PR opportunity. Or maybe Harry's being the one being difficult and we we just don't know."

"I was, I have to confess, gobsmacked when I learned that there was to be no meeting between Harry and his father," royal expert Jennie Bond dished. "I was sure that they would find a lot of time actually, but never mind a lot of time — at least a chance to have a cup of tea or an evening drink or breakfast together or something. There must have been a time in the King’s schedule for that."

King Charles III and The Prince of Wales are both undertaking 'widespread public engagements' across the U.K.

The 75-year-old King, who is still receiving cancer treatments, was busy on the day Harry's Invictus Games were celebrated at St Paul's Cathedral. His Majesty attended the first Buckingham Palace Garden Party of the season, which requires chatting with numerous guests.

To make matters worse for the California Duke, Prince William was appointed Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps, which many claim was surely a sore point for the battle-worn, fiery-haired prince who served two tours of duty in Afghanistan in 2007 and then in 2012 with the Army Air Corps his estranged brother will now lead.

William, as future king, Commander-in-Chief of the British Armed Forces and head of state, was not allowed to serve on the frontlines during his military training.
