'Not a Monster': King Charles 'Tyrant' Claim Dismissed by Ex-Employee Who Said 'Everyone Is Under a Lot of Pressure' in Monarch's Court
King Charles III is "not a monster."
The monarch is often portrayed as temperamental by the media, especially after incidents like his frustration with a leaking pen following Queen Elizabeth II's death, and a recent outburst about Queen Camilla's coat. But the sovereign has now been defended by a former employee, who offers a rare insight into the monarch's character.
"People like working for him, but everyone is under a lot of pressure," they noted while highlighting the demanding nature of his office.
Despite being demanding and having little tolerance for incompetence, he is not the tyrant some portray him to be the ex-staffer insinuates. This portrayal is corroborated by friends and other insiders, who claim his irritability has significantly softened since his marriage to Camilla in 2005.
The ex-employee notes that Charles III is respectful and appreciative of good work. This insight provides a counter-narrative to the more sensational accounts of his temper, painting a picture of a man committed to his duties and expecting the same level of dedication from those around him.
"Charles can have a terrible temper... Anything he perceives as incompetence particularly brings it out — he doesn't suffer fools gladly," the former employee added.
"But the day-to-day reality of working for the King is somewhat less charged," they continued. "In fairness to him, as anyone who has actually worked with him will tell you, he himself is always extremely well prepared, well-read on the subject matter of people he meets and is working with, diligent and respectful of expertise. He is human, and he snaps sometimes... unfortunately, there is sometimes a camera on him when it happens."
Reports of Charles’s irritable moments, such as the aforementioned pen incident, have often been blown out of proportion. Insiders suggest that while these moments do occur, they are not representative of his overall demeanor. Instead, they emphasize his passion for his work and his frustration when things do not go as planned. This perspective suggests that his outbursts are more about his high standards and less about a fundamental flaw in his character.
Friends of His Majesty recently told an outlet that the Queen understands him well and knows how to diffuse tense situations, contributing to a more relaxed and contented King Charles. This relationship dynamic is seen as a positive force in his life, helping him navigate the immense pressures and responsibilities that come with being a monarch.
Numerous analysts have suggested that the King has a clear vision for his reign and is focused on continuing the legacy of service and dedication exemplified by his mother.
