'He Can't Bear It': Update on King Charles' Health Finds Monarch in Less Than Ideal Mood
King Charles III will finally attend his first public outing in nearly two months at this weekend's Easter Sunday church service at Windsor Castle. The monarch has been receiving cancer treatments since early February, which found him attending to the "paperwork and meetings" side of his role as head of state.
"I think it's a very important day," royal expert Angela Levin told GBN. "If he can manage being there and if he smiles, and he's okay, I think it will make a huge difference."
"We mustn't expect too much because there's only going to be a few royals," she added. "He's going to lead them, but we don't know how many there will be. There won't be very many and he has to take it very carefully."
GBN host Eamonn Holmes replied: "A man of that age needs to be very careful. Particularly meeting people and being close to people. I suppose the concern is medically catching something while he's undergoing treatments."
Levin contnued: "Yes. Your body is able to accept any germ that's wandering around. So that's what he really must look after. He is so bored he can't bear it. He's never in his life been at home so much and not being able to go out and meet people. His life is meeting people, and talking to people of all types, all ages. But he can't do that and it's very frustrating."
The news about the King comes after the shocking video announcement from Kate, Princess of Wales, on Friday, March 22, which revealed that she too, was battling an unnamed type of cancer at the age of 42.
"It is highly unusual for just the two of them to sit down together like this," a source revealed when discussing a reported lunch meeting between the future queen and her Sovereign on Thursday, March 21. "The King had already been made aware that the woman he calls 'my beloved daughter-in-law' had cancer. They would have had lots to discuss and share because just weeks earlier the King had begun his course of treatment and dealt with announcing his diagnosis. The King left his lunch feeling very emotional."
The monarch shared that he is "so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did."
Another family source also revealed: "The day the family found out was the day William canceled going to the memorial of his godfather, King Constantine of Greece," they added. "They have been processing the information and Kate has already started chemotherapy."
Unlike His Majesty, who is surprising many by returning to his public work "so early," the Princess of Wales is reported to be absent from the public "until at least September."
