King Charles Cracks the Royal Black Sheep Code!: Monarch 'Solves' Prince Harry and Prince Andrew 'Problems' in One Decisive Command
King Charles III has apparently "solved" his black sheep problem by addressing both Prince Harry and Prince Andrew in one royal command.
"For King Charles, forcing Andrew to move to Frogmore solves several problems at once — it sends a message to Harry that, as a private citizen and no longer a working royal, he will never be allowed back to Frogmore," royal author Tom Quinn dished.
"It sends [a] message to Andrew that having disgraced himself, he can no longer expect to live in the grand style," he added. "And, finally, it means that a suitably grand residence can be made ready for the royals who really matter, William and Kate. Charles is determined that Royal Lodge is the only residence on the royal estate at Windsor that is big enough and regal enough for his heir."
When King Charles acceded to the British throne upon the death of Queen Elizabeth II on September 8, 2022, the new monarch was determined at that time to "downsize the Crown." In addition to cost-cutting measures at his multiple royal residences, the King also saw "a way to make himself appear as if he is scolding the wicked Andrew," a palace insider shared.
The sovereign felt that the ex-working royal and former Jeffrey Epstein associate, along with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, who has lived in the mansion since 2008, were "wasting resources" in the lavish, 30-room residence. He also reportedly felt that the "jewel in the royal residential portfolio" should go to the Prince and Princess of Wales, who are the next king and queen-in-waiting.
"The King's kindness is not without limit and there is a very good option for Andrew to move into Frogmore Cottage, recently vacated by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, which also has the benefit of being within the Windsor Castle security cordon hence reducing the need for alternative round-the-clock security for Royal Lodge," a royal insider told an outlet.
The prince, 64, fell from grace in 2019 when Virginia Giuffre stepped forward to tell the world about her alleged experiences as a victim of s----- abuse by the Duke when she was 17 at a Jeffrey Epstein property. A "disastrous" Newsnight interview that November led Elizabeth II to banish her rumored favorite child from public life, and later strip him of his military honors. He is also not allowed to use his HRH style in public, and Charles III has not altered his mother's decisions.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were gifted Frogmore Cottage as a country home by Elizabeth II in 2018, before abandoning the taxpayer-funded renovated home in early 2020.
Daily Mirror reported on Quinn and the insider revelations.
