Kate Middleton's 'Psychological' Distress: Princess Urged to 'Strike Careful Balance' to Royal Duties After Recuperating
Kate, Princess of Wales, is currently recuperating from abdominal surgery at Adelaide Cottage, near Windsor Castle. The future queen is not expected to resume her royal duties until after Easter, but a palace insider did recently spill that Her Royal Highness is healing "rapidly" with no complications reported so far. But a mental health expert has also come forward to reveal the "careful balance" the princess needs to stick to when she returns to the public stage.
"It is crucial to address the topic of Kate's potential engagements from a psychological standpoint when she returns to her royal duties," licensed therapist Sophie Cress shared. "Resuming work after a recuperation period, particularly after surgery, necessitates striking a careful balance between mental and physical health. Kate is probably going to ease her way back into her royal responsibilities, giving priority to things that suit her energy and health at the moment."
She continued: "Psychologically speaking, it's critical that Kate maintains her autonomy and sense of control over her schedule as she gradually returns to her duties."
The doctor further added how the princess could "benefit most from engagements that give her flexibility with regard to timing and intensity during this period of change. Initiatives centered around mental health awareness or philanthropic ventures that allow Kate to reconnect with her hobbies and interests can be sources of fulfillment and drive. Activities that require Kate to interact with people may also be extremely important to her healing process, given the public nature of her position."
She further observed: "Participating in social activities can offer chances for validation, support, and connection—all critical components of preserving psychological health."
The princess is said to "still be keeping on top of her royal workload and office." Her Royal Highness recently appointed Lieutenant Colonel Tom White as her Private Secretary. Another insider also revealed how the future Queen Consort was "devastated" to learn of King Charles III's cancer diagnosis.
As for her husband, Prince William, many feel that the future monarch is currently anchoring the royal family, and now that he has settled into his leadership role, he is "furious" with Prince Harry for using their father's gravely serious medical condition for publicity.
Veteran royal author Ingrid Seward dished on how the Prince of Wales finds the Duke of Sussex's in-and-out trip to visit sickly King Charles III to be a "PR stunt."
"William would be upset that Harry yet again has chosen to make this visit to see his father a PR opportunity," Seward added. "As far as William is concerned, he has absolutely no interest in speaking to Harry until Harry behaves like a gentleman and apologizes for the years of rudeness and slurs he has aimed at William and the Princess of Wales."
