Kate Middleton & Queen Elizabeth 'Have Been Talking More Than Ever Since The Health Scare,' Insider Shares: 'The Family Is Concerned'
The royal family was thrown for a loop last week when Queen Elizabeth was hospitalized for one night. The monarch seems to be doing just fine, and since the incident, the brood wants to do everything in their power to make sure she is in good health.
“[Duchess] Kate sent the queen a huge bouquet of flowers from her family,” a source told Us Weekly. “George, Charlotte and Louis made ‘get well soon’ cards.”
The mom-of-three, 39, and the Queen“have been talking more than ever since [the] health scare,” the insider shared, adding that Kate “has a special bond with the Queen," and they frequently have “one-on-one phone conversations.”
According to the insider, the Queen "says she’s fine and doing well, but she’s said that before, so naturally [the family is] concerned. They’d been urging her to take it easy for months."
Earlier this week, the Queen received more bad news: she would have to miss out on the COP26 Climate Summit in Scotland.
“This decision was not taken lightly by Her Majesty. It would have been a long journey up to Glasgow and the reception is a long event, which she was very much looking forward to," an insider said. “However, the Queen’s doctors have been very clear and instructed her to rest. She has been able to take on light duties, but sadly attending COP would have been too much of an undertaking.”
Now, the Queen is recuperating at home, and going forward, she may only attend some events virtually.
“She’s not a quitter and will continue working but is handing over some of her duties to Prince Charles and Prince William,” the source said. “[She] is preparing them to take over.”
It looks like Kate has won over the Queen, though. “Over time, Kate has proved to Elizabeth that she can be trusted, and they’ve developed a great relationship,” the source added. “She’s always up for a challenge, believes in herself and feels that she has developed the wisdom, courage and strength to be a success.”
