Another insider told Us Weekly that Kate "is a natural leader who has a magnificent ability to remain composed, even during the most challenging situations."
The brothers' bond began to crumble when Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down from their roles in the royal family, but the claims the couple made during their interview with Oprah Winfrey have done more damage to the siblings' strained relationship.
William was bothered by all of the allegations made against the family, and sources noted that he was outraged when Meghan revealed Kate had caused her to cry during an argument prior to her 2018 wedding.
"I think what has really upset William is Kate being dragged into the interview," suggested royal expert Katie Nicholl. "I was told by sources that [William] is beyond livid over this interview and the damage that it has done."
"I do know that behind the scenes, Kate really has tried to be a peacemaker and certainly tried to get the brothers back together," she shared. "So I think she will certainly be upset she was brought into this."
Harry touched on the current status of his and William's relationship with Winfrey.
"I love William to bits. We’ve been through hell together, and we have a shared experience, but we are on different paths," he noted. "The relationship is space at the moment, and time heals all things, hopefully."
After the TV special aired, Gayle King reported that the brothers were back in touch, but their conversations were "not productive."
