No More 'Amateur' Kate Pics: Princess of Wales 'May Never' Release a Privately Taken Image Again Amid Photo Uproar
Fans of Kate, Princess of Wales' "amateur" photography could be in store for disappointment as it is reported that Her Royal Highness "may never" return to the hobby.
"They put the picture out, and I suppose they will have to have a review of this process," royal expert Russell Myers shared. "What I think is going to be the biggest shame of all is Kate may never put a picture out again."
"And we've had years of her putting out pictures of the children on their birthday, Louis' first day at school, their Christmas card. If she doesn’t do that, that’s such a massive shame for her," he added.
This insight comes amid the reports that suggest HRH has been "thrown under the bus" by her and Prince William's team of advisors at Kensington Palace. The future courtiers have been labeled as "disgraceful" due to apparently allowing the future queen to take to social media and "fully take the blame."
"I'm just so sad and sort of frustrated about the whole thing because I feel so sorry for Catherine," royal expert Richard Eden dished. "Essentially, she's been under so much pressure from people saying 'We want a photo, we want to know how she is, tell us how she is'. And she finally issues this photograph, it's taken by Prince William — they make that clear when they issue the photograph."
He continued: "It's not some personal thing, it's issued by Kensington Palace communications people and then she has been thrown under a bus. The officials made it public. They gave it out, it's their job. I think it's absolutely disgraceful that they've said to her 'You go and explain what you did.' No, it's your job. Take some responsibility."
France’s AFP news agency’s global news director Phil Chetwynd criticized Kensington Palace for allowing the mishap to happen in the first place. "Like with anything, when you’re let down by a source, the bar is raised. To kill something on the basis of manipulation [is rare]," the director explained and added that it happens "once a year maybe, I hope less."
He continued: "You cannot be distorting reality for the public. There’s a question of trust. And the big issue here is one of trust, and the lack of trust and the falling trust of the general public in institutions generally and in the media."
Web sleuths and even professional photographers have examined the photograph and found "numerous inconsistencies," such as Charlotte's "odd clothing patterns" and late spring/summer foliage in the background despite it being late winter. Many have also questioned whether the future queen is "truly in the image at all."
The New York Post reported on the expert opinions.
