Did Meghan Markle's Pal Priyanka Chopra Diss Kate Middleton & Prince William At Wimbledon?
Shade alert? Meghan Markle's pal Priyanka Chopra attended Wimbledon and sat near Kate Middleton and Prince William, but when the couple made their way to their seats and the crowd cheered, the actress, 38, was noticeably adjusting her scarf.
It's possible that Chopra was just not paying attention in the moment, but fans insisted that the Baywatch star was sticking up for her friend — especially after the mom-of-two told Oprah Winfrey how poorly the royal family treated her.
One person said, “The way Priyanka did not even look in their direction is enough for me," while another added, “She totally ignored them. I would do the same if my friend was mistreated."
A third user said, “I would ignore them as well.”
Meghan and Chopra became friends in 2016, and the latter even attended Prince Harry and Meghan's wedding in 2018.
Over the years, Chopra has always stuck up for Meghan.
In 2019, Chopra slammed the treatment of Meghan by the U.K. media.
“Of course, it has to do with racism, it’s an obvious reason," she said in an interview. "If there's anyone who can handle it, it's her. The beauty of Meg is that she’s been herself through all of this. A lot of people got to know her after everything, but I knew her before (she started dating Harry) and she’s the same chick.
"She's an actor, she's an activist, she's a philanthropist," Chopra shared. "I mean, she does so much more [than be Prince Harry's wife]. It's amazing that she found that calling and has the platform to be able to do it. It's so amazing how lives change ... Destiny has a weird way of helping you to find your calling."
Despite Meghan and Harry throwing William and Kate under the bus during their tell-all, it seems like the two ladies are trying to work on their relationship.
“Tensions have eased between Meghan and Kate,” an insider told Us Weekly. “Kate even sent Meghan a gift for the baby. They’re in a better place and have exchanged texts since the birth of Lilibet.”
