Camilla Parker Bowles became Queen Consort in September 2022. Since then, she has been hard at work, taking on extra royal duties, especially after King Charles was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer last year. In recognition of her loyal service to the Crown, staff at Clarence House affectionately call her 'the Lady Boss.'

Her staff reportedly adores her commitment to the institution. In an article for the Daily Mail, journalist and author Hilary Rose wrote, “She is known by some aides at Clarence House as 'the lady boss', and a friend says that she has succeeded 'just by being herself'. Camilla was not, they added, someone who could be pushed about, but nor was she liable to have a hissy fit.” Rose explained that after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as senior royals and Princess Anne had a horse-riding accident, Camilla was forced to take on increased royal duties. "[She] has stepped up her duties with cheerful good humor and the energy of someone considerably younger,” she told the outlet.

Charles is also all praises for his wife who has been a tremendous support to him in his sickness. As per The Sun, during his first address as King, he gushed about his 'darling wife.' He said, “In recognition of her own loyal public service since our marriage seventeen years ago, she becomes my Queen Consort. I know she will bring to the demands of her new role the steadfast devotion to duty on which I have come to rely so much.” Royal author Tina Brown, in her book, The Palace Papers, also sang praises for Camilla. She wrote that if the Queen Consort had a family motto, it would be 'Thou shalt not whine.'

While Camilla now enjoys a flattering nickname, she has also had her fair share of brutal monikers. Journalist and author Tom Bower revealed in his book, Rebel Prince: The Power, Passion and Defiance of Prince Charles, that Queen Elizabeth had bestowed on her a cruel name. He recounted that during a late summer’s evening at Balmoral, when the late Queen had had several martinis, Charles confronted her to end her hostility towards Camilla. “She replied forcefully: she would not condone his adultery, nor forgive Camilla for not leaving Charles alone to allow his marriage to recover. She vented her anger that he had lied about his relationship with what she called ‘that wicked woman,’” he wrote for the Daily Mail.

Charles and Camilla have been married for nearly 20 years. Their infamous affair was why Princess Diana's marriage to Charles was doomed from the start. Royal expert and biographer Christopher Andersen told Fox News Digital that the late Princess also had her own cruel nickname for Camilla. She allegedly called her ‘the Rottweiler,’ while Camilla reportedly dubbed her ‘Barbie.’ Bower also claimed in his book that Camilla called Diana a ‘mad cow.’
