Prince William and Prince Harry are not on speaking terms following the latter's exit from the royal family. Once close, the brothers now go out of their way to avoid acknowledging each other at public events. Royal author Omid Scobie revealed that the Prince of Wales has a brutal nickname for the Duke—allegedly calling him a ‘defector’ as he chose to pursue a new life in America.

It's no surprise that William is furious at Harry, following his bombshell revelations of his brother hitting him in his memoir, Spare. As reported by the Daily Express, Scobie, in his book Endgame, shared, “I was talking to a source quite early on in the process, and they called Harry a 'defector' and said that was William's view. These were two men who, once upon a time, were firmly aligned in their outlook. One of them had to move on to also protect the Crown.”

The author adds that a source told him that William believed Harry had been ‘brainwashed’ by an ‘army of therapists’ and that he no longer recognized his brother. This claim was also echoed by Harry in his memoir, Spare. In an excerpt published by The Sun, he wrote, “I reminded him that I was doing therapy. In fact, he had recently told me he wanted to accompany me to a session because he suspected I was being ‘brainwashed.'” Harry added, “After months of therapy, after working hard to become more aware, more independent, I was a stranger to my older brother. He could no longer relate to me — tolerate me.”

Additionally, an excerpt from Endgame reveals that William didn't even bother to reply to Harry's texts on the day the Queen died. Scobie wrote, “Rumors of the Queen’s passing were rife at this point… His father doesn’t carry a cell phone, and his brother wasn’t acknowledging his existence.” He also alleged that there were empty seats on William’s chartered private jet, but "Harry was left to fend for himself.”

Harry has also used his fair share of crude words for his brother William. In his memoir, Spare, he referred to his ‘beloved brother’ as his ‘arch nemesis’ and alluded to a ‘weird’ competition between them. The cruel two-word jab resurfaced during his interview with Good Morning America with Michael Strahan, where he used the term to refer to William once again. In a separate incident, Harry told ITVX that he and his brother were on ‘different paths’ but that he still loved him dearly. Much like his brother, their father, King Charles III, has also avoided meeting Harry during his brief visits to the UK.
