Are Princess Charlene & Prince Albert Of Monaco Calling It Quits? 'She'll Never Leave Her Kids,' Source Says
Since Princess Charlene has been recovering from surgery in South Africa, she has not been able to see her husband, Prince Albert of Monaco. So, are the two calling it quits after 10 years of marriage?
"She'll never leave her kids," a source told PEOPLE, suggesting that the blonde beauty — who shares twins Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella — will head home after she is cleared to travel.
The 43-year-old has been staying in her homeland since early May. She was supposed to fly home, but after she had to get another surgery, she has been recuperating and staying put.
"I was instructed by the doctors that I can't fly yet because I'm unable to equalize my ears and therefore cannot fly above 20,000 feet ... due to the pressure," she said of her ear, nose and throat issues. "I miss my husband, my babies and my doggies terribly, [but] I can't force a recovery of bone and membrane — it takes time."
Even though Charlene had to miss her 10th wedding anniversary, she has been trying to stay positive.
"It's been a trying time for me. I miss my husband and children dearly," she told South African News Channel24. "Albert is my rock and strength and without his love and support I would not have been able to get through this painful time."
"This year will be the first time that I will not be with my husband on our wedding anniversary in July, which is difficult and saddens me," she said in a statement. "However, Albert and I had no choice but to follow the instructions of the medical team, even if it was extremely difficult. He has been the most incredible support to me."
"My daily conversations with Albert and my children help me keep my spirits up a lot, but I miss their presence very much. I was lucky to have their visit to South Africa, and it was really wonderful to see them. I can't wait for us to be together," she added.
Meanwhile, Albert went to Tokyo for the Olympics, and Charlene got nostalgic when she listened to their wedding song.
"My dear friend Alouise, Thank you for remembering our wedding song. With all my heart Merci ❤️," the mom-of-two captioned a video of her pal performing "My Hele Hart" by Romanz.
